Payment Processing
Payment for goods must be made at the time of order using the available payment methods listed on our website.
All prices are quoted in the currently specified at the checkout and where VAT is payable this is clearly indicated at checkout.
Payment is processed via our secure payment gateway provided by Stripe, and their terms and conditions will also apply to purchases you may via this site.
You confirm all payment details you provide are accurate and that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method.
Order Acceptance and Contract Formation
A contract for the sale of goods is formed only when we confirm your order. Until then, orders are non-binding.
In case of pricing or product description errors, we may cancel or correct the order.

Consumer Rights and the Consumer Rights Act 2015
You have a right to a full refund, repair, or replacement if goods are faulty, misdescribed, or not delivered as agreed, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Distance Selling and Your Right to Cancel
In compliance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013:
Right to Cancel
You may cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods (“Cancellation Period”), subject to the terms below.
To cancel, please contact us at watermansgoldsmiths@gmail.com or via our website, before the end of the Cancellation Period.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Return of Goods
If you cancel, you must return the goods to us within 14 days of cancellation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Goods must be returned in their original condition with all packaging and documentation.
Refunds
We will refund you upon receiving the returned goods in acceptable condition (as determined by us acting reasonably), using the original payment method. This only applies to distance purchases (i.e. via the Watermans Goldsmiths website) and not to purchases made in store.
Jewellery purchased in store can be exchanged within 28 days with proof of purchase, providing the returned item is unworn (this includes earrings).
Credit notes will only be issued at the discretion of Watermans of Banbury Ltd.
We are unable to offer refunds.
Please note that we cannot exchange commissioned items or those which have been sized or altered.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Exclusions
Some goods we sell are exempt from this returns policy. We cannot accept returns on bespoke and made-to-order items. If you require more information, contact us at watermansgoldsmiths@gmail.com.
Deposits
If you leave a deposit on an item in our stock such a deposit will be refundable at the discretion of Watermans Goldsmiths. A charge may be applied to cover processing and admin costs.
If you wish to cancel a bespoke or made-to-order item and have left a deposit, this will be refundable at the discretion of Watermans Goldsmiths. Deposits may be retained in full to cover the cost of materials and labour.
Delivery
We will deliver goods to the address you provide when placing your order. Any delivery times are estimates and subject to change.
Promotions and Discount Codes
Terms for combining discounts or promotions will be outlined at the time of the offer.
Promotions and discount codes may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any promotion or discount code without notice.

All repairs will be assessed and completed in our on-site workshop. This excludes pearl restringing, stone cutting and polishing, engraving, plating & hallmarking. If our staff or goldsmiths determine that you need further work to your jewellery, we will contact you by phone.

Guarantees
Jewellery repairs are covered by a one-year guarantee unless otherwise stated.
​
Pearl restringing jobs are covered by a six-month guarantee. Pearls should not be worn in water or come into contact with chemicals such as perfumes. If the items show signs of damage or misuse/wear, the warranty will be void.

Replacement gemstones supplied and set by us are covered by a six-month guarantee when the appropriate setting work/metal work is also completed.

These guarantees may be withdrawn by Watermans Goldsmiths. General wear and tear or damage caused by unreasonable usage are not covered by guarantee. All returned repairs will be assessed by our master goldsmith or manager to determine if returned items violate the terms of the guarantee.

We are unable to offer a guarantee on some items, such as hollow chains. We shall notify you if your item to be repaired will not be covered by our guarantee or is classed as best possible repair.

Ring sizing​
When having ring sizing work completed, the final size agreed is the responsibility of the customer, made on the advice of our staff. If the end result is not satisfactory, we can offer a 50% discount on the subsequent resizing. Exceptions to this may occur. Please bear in mind that finger sizes can change substantially as a result of temperature fluctuations and personal circumstances.

Insurance
Any items left with us will be stored in our safes and covered by our insurance policy.

Deposits & Payments
We require a deposit to begin work, equivalent to 50% of the total repair cost. This is to cover non-refundable costs incurred during the course of the repair, all repairs equivalent to or under the value of £50.00 are to be paid in full to begin work.

Collections
Please retain your receipt and bring this with you when you come to collect your item. In the event that you do not have your receipt, we can accept valid forms of ID (e.g. driving licence). We reserve the right to refuse collection if you do not have your receipt.
If you arrange for someone other than the named receipt holder to collect your item on your behalf, please ensure they have the receipt when coming to collect.
